Hatsune Miku Live Party 2012 (“MikuPa”) marks the latest live performance of “holographic” princess Hatsune Miku and her Vocaloid vassals, and as expected Miku shows off her latest tunes and costumes to much fan delight – although there are now some whispers of discontent at the formulaic nature of her appearances.

Apart from some complaints about the balloons interfering with Miku-visibility, the reception from Miku fans is generally positive, with the event evidently maintaining the now stable CG and musical quality associated with her live appearances (not always a given).

However, some veteran fans are becoming concerned about a lack of novelty in Miku’s various live appearances, which whilst now quite polished are not displaying much in the way of variety (as might realistically be expected from repeatedly watching what is essentially a MikuMikuDance cosplay show on a projector at a venue) – a possible danger sign for organisers.
